The McMaster University Chemical Engineering Conference (MUCEC) is an annual tradition in the Department of Chemical Engineering. This event provides a platform for our graduate students to display their research to the department and connect with students, faculty members with expertise in other research disciplines, and industrial guests providing the opportunity to build collaborations and gain new insights from different research perspectives.
Each year we invite a distinguished McMaster Engineering alumnus to provide the keynote address to open the conference. The following presentations are provided by graduate students who give informative talks covering most of the research areas in the McMaster Chemical Engineering Department. These students also compete for the A.E. Hamielec Award, a prestigious honour named after one of the department’s own emeritus faculty members in honour of his significant contributions to the department and the field of polymer reaction engineering. In addition to the oral presentations, many of the graduate students exhibit their research in a poster session.
