Dr Shaymaa Shurrab
received her medical degree and residency training in Pediatrics at Damascus University,
Damascus Hospital & the Arab Board for Health Specialisations, Syria. Dr Shurrab completed her fellowship training
in Clinical Genetics at the University of Toronto & SicKids Hospital, after
which she completed her CCMG training program in Biochemical Genetics at the
University of British Columbia & BC Children’s Hospital. In this session of Grand Rounds, Dr. Shurrab presents a case presentation about a constellation of common
symptoms seen in a recently identified inherited metabolic disorder (IMD). She presents all the facts and series of events that would lead her to define and properly diagnosis the patient and reflect on the steps that got her there.
