In this talk Dr. Fei Yu will introduce what bibliometric analysis is and what you can do with it. She will use examples from her own work to discuss the resources, tools, methods, and processes of bibliometrics and how you can get started with these tools. Finally, she'll discuss how to interpret the results of a bibliometric analysis and best practices for carrying out a bibliometric study.
Bio:
Dr. Fei Yu is a Health Technology and Informatics Librarian at the Health Sciences Library, University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill. She is also an Assistant Professor at the UNC School of Information and Library Science. Since 2016, she has been assisting the evaluation team at the North Carolina Translational and Clinical Science Institute (NC Tra CS) with bibliometric network analysis for research impact measurement. Her research interests include research impact metrics, citation data analytics and visualization, electronic health records, user interface design and evaluation, and digital health. Dr. Yu’s publications have been focusing on applying bibliometrics to investigate the performance of health affair units and health information technologies.
