Dr. Ori Scott is a transition clinician scientist in the Division of Clinical Immunology and Allergy at The Hospital for Sick Children. She completed her pediatric residency at SickKids, followed by a fellowship in Clinical Immunology and Allergy. She subsequently completed her PhD under Dr. Ronald Cohn in Genetic and Genome Biology at The Hospital for Sick Children’s Research Institute. Dr. Scott has an interest in disorders of immune dysregulation involving infections, autoimmunity, hyperinflammation, atopy and malignancy. She aspires to understand how minuscule changes within the immune system can have multi-faceted and far-reaching impacts on human health.
Her presentation is titled, "STAT1 gain-of-function: Precision medicine insights into human immunity". The objectives will be:
- To introduce the concept of primary immune dysregulation disorders
- To discuss an example of using a multi-modal wet-lab and clinical approach to gain a deeper understanding of the immune disorder STAT1 gain-of-function
