My name is Julie Mills and I am a
Patient Experience Specialist. In this role, I work to provide support to
the patients, families and staff at various sites across HHS when navigating
through patient and family concerns. My primary areas of focus include
McMaster Children’s Hospital and Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre. I
also provide support to the Urgent Care Centre and the Satellite Health
Facility.
Additionally, I have the privilege of
supporting our Corporate Network of Patient and Family Advisors as they engage
in various quality improvement opportunities across the organization. I
have been in this role for 2 years, but have been an employee of HHS for the
past 23 years (dating back to my student job as a film librarian in the
Radiology department!). Prior to my role in Patient Experience, I worked
as an Occupational Therapist on the Surgical Oncology Unit at the Juravinski
Hospital for 14 years, and I have a background education in Science and
Kinesiology.
