Join Kate Brown and Jessica Blackwood for an introduction to definitions, concepts and tools available at McMaster to foster accessible communication. This workshop will demonstrate inclusive techniques within Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and basic social media.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Define common terms related to disability, accessibility, and ableism.
- Identify provincial standards of accessibility for digital content in the education and clinical environments.
- Discuss concrete strategies to increase accessibility for learners, staff, community members and faculty within McMaster University using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and social media.
