Dr. Edward Pugh is a Neonatal Staff Physician at McMaster University Hospital and bioinformatician. Dr. Pugh graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School in London, UK in 2003. He immigrated to Canada in 2009 to complete his Pediatric training and a neonatal fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children. Dr. Pugh’s primary research interests include real-time computer-assisted decision support and early clinical alerting systems.
In this session of Grand Rounds, Dr. Pugh provides a few clinically relevant pearls for all pediatricians, illustrated with cases from the last 5 years in the McMaster NICU. His main objectives of his presentation are to take home one or two new thoughts for managing cases in your clinical practice, appreciate that learning really begins outside the lecture hall and to emphasize the importance of continuing to question.
