Dr. Ameil Joseph is the Associate Professor at the School of
Social Work at McMaster University and holds a Professorship in Equity,
Identity, and Transformation from the Faculty of Social Sciences at McMaster.
This Grand Rounds sessions explores a myriad of historical and contemporary
ways racism is talked about, understood, or omitted in mental health research,
education, policy, and practice. Discussing racism and its impact on health and
mental health is offered alongside an appreciation that racism has been
embedded within mental health and health practice, policy, and law. It also
includes perspectives on systemic and structural intervention to advance change
for the better.
