Dr. Tania Cellucci is a staff pediatric rheumatologist at McMaster Children’s Hospital and an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University.
Knowledge translation (KT) is intended to be the bridge from “bench to bedside”, or to facilitate the application of research into real life to improve the health of the population and strengthen the health care system. Nowadays, every research grant proposal requires a well-developed KT plan. But what happens when your research focuses on a rare disease or when there is no gold standard research evidence to apply?
