In this talk, Dr. Rupu Gupta will share her work in research and evaluation in the field of conservation psychology. She discusses how conservation psychology can be a means to tackle the complex environmental challenges communities face and understand barriers to involvement individuals and communities face.
Bio:
Dr. Rupu Gupta, PhD, is a conservation psychologist specializing in mixed-methods research, inclusive practices in the environmental movement, and culturally responsive evaluation. She has published on the conflicting pedagogies in the environmental movement and recommended strategies to overcome those challenges. She has led evaluation efforts of the EPA-funded EECapacity project, Children and Nature Network’s Green Schoolyards for Healthy Communities Initiative, and currently leads the evaluation of the New England Aquarium's community-resilience partnerships. Dr. Gupta leads Knology’s Biosphere research and has worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Conservation Psychology at Hunter College, City University of New York.
