Dr. Bob Issenman is Professor of Pediatrics and Interim Chief of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology at McMaster Children’s Hospital. He is the Past President of the Canadian Paediatric Society and a longtime member of the Medical Advisory Committee of the Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome Association of North America. He participated in writing the adult CVS and CHS guidelines is presently helping revise the Pediatric Guidelines.
Dr. April Kam is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and the Director of Research and Quality for the division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at McMaster Children’s Hospital. She has her Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and Masters of Science in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, in the United Kingdom. She is a founding member of the MacPeds Anti-Racism Coalition and was the 2022 recipient of the Dr. Roy Quality Improvement Award. Dr. Kam has led evidence-based work in post-resuscitation debriefing in critical care areas and shares her quality improvement/patient safety (QIPS) expertise on a local (Pediatric Quality Improvement conference), national (Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada ASPIRE course) and global scale (McMaster Pediatric Global QIPS workshops). She is the current acting President of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Section of the Canadian Paediatric Society and is the Pediatrics track chair for the Developing EM conference. She is a College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario assessor and a Red Cross Emergency Response Unit physician member.
