Dr. Linda Pedder is an Associate Professor
within the Department of Pediatrics, Division Head of Pediatric Respirology and
Director of the Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis (CF) clinic at McMaster Children’s
Hospital. Dr. Pedder is also actively involved in CF Research and is Site Accreditor for CF Canada and also serves on
The CF Canada Subcommittee, establishing best practice and
standards of care. In this session, Dr. Pedder goes over the histoy of CF as a disease and highlighting the research throughout time from the first diagnosis of CF in 1930 by Dr. Dorothy Anderson to the current treatment plans that have been developed over the past century. Through research and various trials, different ways to treat CF have emerged and have extended the life expectancy of CF patients around the world, giving hope that one day there will be a cure for CF.
