Dr. Jean Chamberlain-Froese tells us about her experience as a global health professional predominantly in Yemen and Uganda, and the work founding "Save the Mothers" that earned her, among other accolades, the Order of Canada. Many of the course concepts from 4H03 Global Health are evident in Dr. Chamberlain's work, from special populations (Women, Children and Men, Indigenous Populations) to key topics (social justice, economic development, upstream thinking, intersectoral collaboration, capacity building, equity, sustainability, identity, the role of foreign aid and NGOs). I asked Dr. Chamberlain to tell us a bit about her whole life as a GH professional and what kinds of decisions she had to make along the way.
