Dr. David Fahmy is an Assistant Clinical Professor at McMaster University and the Program Director for its Pediatric and Adult Clinical Immunology & Allergy programs.
He completed his medical school at the University of Western Ontario followed by a residency in internal medicine at the University of Toronto. He then completed his Clinical Immunology and Allergy training as well as his Masters in Health Science Education at McMaster University.
He continues on as faculty at McMaster with a focus on medical education. He has a clinical practice in Hamilton and Toronto.
In this week's core session of Grand Rounds, Dr. Fahmy's presentation will begin with an overview of a practical approach to identifying, diagnosing, and managing drug allergy syndromes. He follows more with an in-depth conversation around the penicillin allergy label, the implications, and appropriate management.
