Dr. Quang Ngo is an Associate Professor and clinician educator in the Department of Pediatrics. He is the founding program director for the Pediatric Emergency Medicine subspecialty residency program at McMaster University and chair of assessment with the DeGroote School of Medicine. He is currently completing his Master’s in Health Professions Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago and his scholarly interests are in simulation-based assessment, teaching and feedback, for which he has given talks and workshops at national and international conferences.
In this session of Grand Rounds, Dr. Ngo lists some of the difficulties associated with current methods of candidate selection and begins to articulate a framework for selection that is both valid and defensible.
