Dr. Vladimir Belostotsky is the Head of Pediatric Nephrology Division and Service at McMaster Children’s Hospital. He joined Department of Pediatrics nearly 15 years ago after completing his pediatric nephrology training at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital in the United Kingdom. He also had an opportunity to train and work in three other tertiary pediatric hospitals in the UK: Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool and Leeds Children's Hospital. His clinical and academic interests focus on kidney stone disease in children and emerging therapies for primary hyperoxaluria. In addition, his quality improvement and research efforts center on improving timely access for patients referred to specialist clinics — the focus of today’s presentation.
In this week's core session of Grand Rounds, he will explore how outpatient referral management has evolved since the 2019 Transitions in Care policy and where our hospital’s ambulatory triage process is heading next.
