Dr. Jacqueline Wong is a staff physician and Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Infectious Diseases at McMaster Children’s Hospital. She obtained both her Pharmacy and Medicine degrees from the University of Toronto. After pursuing her Paediatric Residency at the University of British Columbia, she then returned to the Toronto to complete her subspecialty training in Paediatric Infectious Diseases as well as an Advanced Clinical Fellowship in Antimicrobial Stewardship at the Hospital for Sick Children. More recently, she earned her master’s degree in Health Research Methodology from McMaster University in 2019. She stepped into the role of Clinical Director for the McMaster Children’s Hospital FMT stool bank in July 2024.
Her research is focused on quality improvement and patient safety, with a specific interest in antimicrobial stewardship including novel stewardship strategies and antibiotic-associated infections.
In this week's core session of Grand Rounds, she reviews C. difficile pathophysiology, diseases manifestations, and management, including the development of the pediatric donor FMT program at McMaster Children’s Hospital.
