Dr. Anita Acai is an assistant professor and education scientist in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University. As an interdisciplinary, PhD-trained researcher with expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, her research program involves using education as a tool to address pressing health challenges, particularly those relating to mental health. Her focus is currently on understanding and improving equity and wellbeing in our health systems. She also conducts research in the areas of competency-based medical education, including assessment; learner-centred pedagogies; and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
