Dr. Jessie Hulst is a staff gastroenterologist in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics of the University of Toronto, and the co-chair of the Pediatric Working group of the Canadian Malnutrition Taskforce.
Disease-related malnutrition is a problem in hospitalized children, it is associated with adverse clinical outcomes and therefore needs our attention. Nutritional screening, assessment of children at risk, and individualized nutritional intervention should be an integral part of our multidisciplinary practice and the Pediatric Working Group of The Canadian Malnutrition Taskforce (CMTF) is currently working on the development of a Pediatric Integrated Pathway for Nutrition in Acute Care (pINPAC).
