Dr. Katherine Prowse completed her core Paediatric residency training at Northeast Ohio Medical University/Akron Children's Hospital and Paediatric Gastroenterology fellowship at McMaster University. She concomitantly completed the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada’s Clinician Investigator Program at McMaster University while pursuing a Masters of Medical Science. She has completed international certification in point of care intestinal ultrasound and co-developed the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Transition Clinic and the Pediatric Intestinal Ultrasound Clinic at McMaster University.
Dr. Mary Zachos completed her medical school training at the University of Toronto. She went on to do pediatric residency training and subspecialty pediatric gastroenterology training at the Hospital for Sick Children. Dr. Zachos has completed a Royal College Area of Focused Practice Clinician Educator Diploma at McMaster and is currently completing international certification in Intestinal Ultrasound. Dr. Zachos is the co-lead of the Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease Quality Committee, Program Director of the Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition Training Program and Division Head at McMaster.
In this week's core session of Grand Rounds, Dr. Prowse and Dr. Zachos presents the development of an innovative clinical, academic and educational initiative, and shares the pearls and lessons learned from pediatric intestinal ultrasound.
