Dr. Murray Potter is a Professor, interim Division Head (academic) for the Division of Genetics and Metabolics, Department of Pediatrics,the Head of Service (clinical) and past chair of the Department of Pathology & Molecular Medicine 2017-2023.
Dr. Mark Tarnopolsky is a Professor and Division Head of Neuromuscular and Neurometabolic Disorders in the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University. He completed a PhD in Cell Biology and Metabolism in 2001, followed by five years of training in Internal Medicine, Neurology and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at McMaster University and the University of Rochester in New York. After accepting a faculty position at McMaster University in 1996, he has focused his practice predominately in the area of mitochondrial disease, muscle disorders (muscular dystrophy) and other neurometabolic disorders. He also holds a Chair in Neuromuscular Disorders from McMaster Children's Hospital/Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation since 2010.
Dr. Mariya Kozenko is an Associate Professor for the Department of Pediatrics, in the Division of Genetics & Metabolics. Her clinical specialty is in both genetics and metabolics with training in both those areas, with a special love for Mucopolysaccharidosis patients.
In this week's core session of Grand Rounds, attendees will be able to name three new conditions added to the screening panel in Ontario and understand at least one limitation to the screening for each condition.
