Dr. Sherelyn Stanton has been a pediatrician at Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) since 2015.  She is the current Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Oncology at McMaster Children’s Hospital. In this Faculty Development session, Dr. Stanton provides an understanding of the status of healthcare in Guyana. Dr. Stanton provides an overview of the country’s current population and highlights the main disease burdens that is seen at Georgetown Hospital. She provides insight to how the healthcare system can be improved and how, we can assist countries like Guyana can improve on their healthcare system.
