Summary: Individuals with a history of trauma (including experiences of structural violence within the health care system) or populations who have experienced collective trauma may experience hesitancy in receiving the COVID-19 vaccination. The application of trauma-and violence-informed care (TVIC) principles by public health nurses and public health units can increase individuals’ experiences of physical and emotional safety, as well as trust of and engagement with different systems of care. In this workshop the TVIC principles will be reviewed and participants will have the opportunity to discuss how they can be applied within the context of COVID-19 vaccination clinics.
