Dr. Gregorio Zúñiga is a pediatrician from Mexico who trained in Pediatric Palliative Care in Canada, Spain and India. Before becoming a pediatrician he trained and worked as a grief counsellor focusing on bereaved parents. His clinical and research interests include perinatal palliative care, the concept of suffering, grief and bereavement and the development of pediatric palliative care in Latin America.
In this week's core session of Grand Rounds, through the lens of Magic, Dr. Zúñiga discusses the intersection of the palliative approach to care and family experiences with end-of-life and bereavement care received at MCH. His objective is to review the quality of care provided at MCH before, during and after the death of a child and make a proposal on how to improve it.
