Dr. Charushree Prasad is an assistant professor with the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Nephrology, and the associate program director for the core pediatrics residency program. She completed her residency at the IWK Health Centre, Dalhousie University and her fellowship in nephrology at The Hospital for Sick Children. She has a keen interest in medical education and has completed her Masters of Health Practitioner Teacher Education through the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. Her interests include glomerular diseases and kidney transplantation and from an educational perspective, making complex nephrology topics more accessible to learners.
In this week's core session of Grand Rounds, Dr. Prasad describes the journey of a child with chronic kidney disease, the current literature on quality of life and patient outcome measures at different phases of chronic kidney disease for both children and their caregivers. She also brainstorms ways to optimize support for children and families with chronic kidney disease.
