I started my career as an ER nurse at McMaster 17 years ago. I saw it through the evolution of changing to a pediatric centre. Through my love for kids, I decided to become a pediatric nurse practitioner. I joined the Pediatric General surgery team at McMaster 12 years ago as a new NP and have been there ever since. I am the gtube resource for the entire hospital and really enjoy working collaboratively with all services to provide quick and readily available access care. As our pediatric population is growing and also become more complicated, I strive to improve access to specialized pediatric care. Some of my main interests, in addition to gastrostomy tubes, are following children with complex surgical conditions, such as tracheoesophageal fistulas/esophageal atresias, congenital diaphragmatic hernias, Hirschsprung’s disease, and anorectal malformations.
