Dr. Brandon Meaney (Division of Neurology) and Dr. Connie Williams (Division of Neonatology) are Associated Professors in the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster, with a shared interest in family-centred interprofessional care, medical education, and professional development. Through this collaboration they are hoping to create a safe forum to share strategies for deepening personal and relational integrity while providing ethical patient centered care.
In this week's core session of Grand Rounds, they explore through a case study and its ethical considerations in antenatal subspecialty consultation and shared decision-making, while also examining the ‘role morality’ of the consultant and the impact of values, biases, and silos of practice.
