All of us in the BHSc (Hons) Program Office wanted to say a warm 'hello and welcome' to our incoming class for Fall 2020. Even though we won't be able to meet in person for some time yet, we're grateful for the technology that allows us to connect meaningfully in a virtual way. This video helps start the process of getting to know each other a bit as more than just names and titles in an email or on a website.
Chari suggested some summer reading for you -- you'll soon come to learn that Chari is a classic Renaissance kinda guy -- the two he mentioned in the video, and a few others, and we might add a few more ideas for you here too!
- The Plague by Albert Camus (Chari)
- Ithaka by Constantine Cavafy (Chari)
- The Parable of the Talents (Chari)
- Among School Children by W. B. Yeats (Chari)
- The Black Swan by Nassim Nicholas Taleb (Parmjit, one of your upper year instructors)
- Thanks for the Feedback by Stone & Heen (Stacey & Margaret)
- So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo (Stacey)
- ...more to come!
